What’s in the Box?

Electro-Static Scientific Wand! Includes 10 Flying Toys in a separate Storage Folder: Hourglass x 2, Large Sphere x 2, Medium Sphere x 3, Butterfly x 1, Large Ring x 1, Medium Ring x 1

Description:

The FunFlyStick appears to magically cause light metallic objects to dance about in midair! But it's not magic, it's incredible science! Scientifically speaking, the FunFlyStick is a compact Van de Graaff generator, capable of creating an electrical field strong enough to keep the included Mylar objects hovering in the air. This kit includes everything you need to amaze your friends and learn about physics at the same time! A Van de Graaff generator is a simple mechanical device – an electrostatic generator that uses a moving belt to collect very high voltages on a hollow metal globe on the top of the stand. It is a constant-current source connected with a capacitor and having a large electrical resistance. The Van de Graaff generator was invented by its namesake, Robert J. Van de Graaff, an American physicist, in 1929.

Interesting toy. My kids love seeing if they can find anything around the house that they might be able to levitate
